Construction Manager - Water Wastewater

Job Description Arcadis is seeking a Water / Wastewater Construction Manager, with 3-5 years' experience, to join our Water Division team in Fair Lawn, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Staff Construction Engineer, with the support of a strong technical and construction management staff, will utilize their experience and technical knowledge of W/WW construction to manage small to medium construction projects and assist in project pursuits within the municipal Water / Wastewater market of this region to help build and grow our practice. Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Provides construction leadership through all phases of projects up to and including; managing project teams' daily construction activities, managing contracts, maintaining QA/QC requirements and approaches, while providing clients with regular progress updates. Monitors performance of contractors, overall site safety, subcontractors and suppliers. Relays any issues related to these to clients, including any changes or deviations from plan, on a regular basis. Client Management / Development activities will include; managing overall client expectations, assisting with project pursuit efforts and identification of new projects to pursue. Assists in development of scopes of work and budgets for various projects. Works with Project Manager to plan, manage, execute and deliver various engineering projects on time, on budget and to the performance expectations of the client. Supervises and supports the work of others, including mentoring junior level staff. Utilizes knowledge of cost trends, change management, claims, and other construction-related matters to ensure success of project delivery while maintaining Arcadis' standards and specifications. Uses both their oral and written communication skills to effectively lead and conduct progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, contractor, local agencies, and the community. Recommends improvements to save project costs and/or shorten project schedules. Review and processing of contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders. Other responsibilities will include acting as liaison to design staff to obtain field information to answer design questions, contractor RFIs. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Construction or a closely related field of study. 3-5 years' constructionexperience for water / wastewater facilities as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager. Experience managing constructionbudgets and schedules and with estimating, change order negotiation, and bidding. Strong communication skills with leadership experience. Proficiency with Primavera P6 Professional Project Management and/or Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Required Driving Statement This position requires a current valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications PE or FE with intent to earn PE highly desired. Construction-related credentials, such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Client experience & knowledge in New Jersey. Active participation in a regional or national professional association. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
