Pre-Press Specialist

The candidate is expected to communicate clearly with management on a daily basis, as well as relay information accurately to outside vendors. He/she should have a strong knowledge of graphic design, content layout, file scaling, pre-press and printing processes.
Candidates responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Checking files for accuracy in color (RGB vs CMYK vs PMS)
Maintaining said accuracy while file is printing/has printed
Setting up files correctly (proper scaling, crops and bleed)
Review for font problems and obtain all necessary file components from the client prior to job initiation
Make changes to the file content if needed
Articulate any issues that arise in a manner of providing a solution
Preflight documents for any possible problems prior to proofing/printing
Maintain file management within designated servers for ease in archiving
Send proofs with all pertinent information to the client/outside vendors
Assist in any internal design projects for other divisions
Program Knowledge:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Acrobat
Microsoft Office Suite
Printer RIP Software (ex. ONYX Postershop)
Any 3D Software knowledge (ex. Rhino) is a plus
Experience/Schooling:
1-3 years field experience preferable, willing to train for job specific items
Associates or Bachelors in Graphic Design/Advertising or related degree

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
